Flæne is a guitarist, voice artist, writer, sound designer and singer-songwriter currently residing, writing & rehearsing in a semi-derelict former grist mill on the southern shore of the River Thames.
Born in Newcastle the son of an itinerant Irish labourer, he spent a good part of his early life deep in the woods of the New Forest before moving to the back alleys and derelict buildings of the capital.
Flæne worked for numerous years as a film sound designer and radio/podcast producer before releasing his debut album ‘Spoor’ in 2025. No surprise then that his alt folk songs often involve field recordings gathered from long walks through different landscapes, mixed with the work of musical co-conspirators and splashes of electronica. Flæne’s binauraly rich songs are therefore very much best experienced via headphones.
